Before consolidating China shopping orders, check route acceptance, arrival dates, seller returns, fragile goods and the packaging that must stay.
You have several parcels in a Chinese warehouse and want them sent together. Before asking for consolidation, check whether those particular orders can travel in one box. A shared destination does not automatically mean a shared shipping route.
Check the contents of every parcel
Make a short list with the order number, product, quantity and anything relevant to transport: batteries, liquids, powders, magnets, fragile parts or large dimensions. Ask the warehouse which route accepts the complete combination to your destination.
If one item cannot use the selected route, ask about a separate shipment before the parcels are opened and repacked. Do not remove protective packaging simply to fit something that the route does not accept.
Decide which arrivals are worth waiting for
Look at the expected arrival of the remaining orders, the storage dates of items already received and the return window for any item you still need to check. Waiting has a purpose only if the later parcel can join the shipment and the delay suits your needs.
If you are new to the process, the first forwarding order guide shows where consolidation fits between arrival review and international dispatch.
Say which packaging must stay
Write the instructions against each parcel, rather than saying “remove all boxes.” Keep original protection needed for screens, glass and other fragile goods. Explain whether a retail box matters for gifting, storage or an applicable return.
Ask how heavy items will be kept from pressing on delicate items. Some orders should stay separate even when they could technically share a route.
| Situation | Confirm before packing |
|---|---|
| Fragile product beside a heavy item | Separation and cushioning plan |
| Retail box must be kept | Final size with that box retained |
| Battery or liquid in one order | Acceptance of the whole combination |
| Seller return still being considered | Hold the item and keep required packaging |
| One order has not arrived | Storage deadline and whether waiting helps |
Compare the packing proposal before approving it
Ask what can be estimated without opening parcels and whether a trial pack, extra photos or repacking will be charged. Once the proposal is clear, compare separate and combined shipping using the consolidation cost worksheet. A larger box can raise volumetric weight or trigger a size surcharge; no fixed saving applies to every order.
For questions about storage or responsibility during repacking, consult the forwarding company terms checklist before giving instructions.
With YDA Express, identify the parcels you want combined and state what to retain or remove in the forwarding request. Confirm route acceptance and special protection with support. Approve the packing and shipping proposal only after you understand the charges and the goods included.
